Stupidity

I put my faith into a man in November. Now that man is trying to take away my security by taking away my right to choose. I still believe that I made the right choice by voting for Obama, but that belief is slipping. I have worked too hard to have the threat that the Federal government will tell me what medical treatment I will or will not receive. I know I am only in my mid-20's, but that doesn't mean anything. In my last blog I talked about a knee injury that will require medical attention for the rest of my life. I have other medical problems that would likely not be treated because some faceless person says it costs too much. In the Declaration of Independence, three rights were listed and were said to be certain and inalienable; Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. I have the liberty to choose my health care and that liberty will grant me my life. The bills in Congress are unconstitutional and President Obama, Vice President Biden and Speaker Pelosi should see that and understand it. I refuse to let my government tell me what I can or cannot do in this matter. It would be as if they told me what religion to practice. So, President Obama, do what you know is right.
When it comes to health care reform, regulate it, do not control it. If someone can't afford health insurance (and I mean can't afford it, not someone who chooses not to have it) then have a program for it. Free clinics aren't really free and we all know the reasons why insurance has become so expensive. There are some people who are eligible through their jobs and unions for health insurance who choose not to take it on the simple matter of going to a clinic and getting their bills written off. Someone has to pay for it and the vast majority of the time it is those people who pay for most (if not all) of their own insurance. Then there are these lawyers who sue for millions of dollars. I'm sorry, but short of losing all four limbs and becoming mentally handicapped, that amount should not be accepted. No amount of money could bring my heath back to me. The Federal government should pass a law that requires all employed people to have some form of health insurance, not put us all in bed with a HMO.
I just hope that President Obama and Congress realizes this before it is too late.

Shattered Dreams

So I had a doctor take my dreams yesterday and shatter them into a million pieces and then hand them back to me on a silver platter.  I didn't need to here that I have no cartilage in my left knee and didn't have much in my right knee.  I know that I could possibly get back in the military if I felt like a rough fight but after the disappointment that gave me I decided that it would be better for me to just let go and finally start my life.  I was waiting to go to college until I got back into the military, but I took a step towards the rest of my life and applied.  Yes, it is for a degree that will pay for nothing, but it was what I needed to do.  So, I am going to mourn my shattered dreams and will enjoy the challenge that lies ahead.  Archaeology.
